    Dzus 1/4 turn fasteners

I'm having a few 'senior moments'(again ) - I was about to order up some Dzus 1/4 turn fasteners for my hood sides and have totally forgotten my early race car days on how they were fitted up.
There are several fastener lengths available - my guess is that I need the .500 length for my all steel car, plus the brackets. Again, there are several material thicknesses to contend with - Summit has one from .140-.164 which, again, for a steel body sounds about right. But, instead of ordering up a bunch of incorrect pieces that will end up in a swap meet sale, need an opinion or several. Also, if anyone has found a decent technical website for these fasteners, I'd be grateful - I just spent over an hour looking, but.....
    Thanks
    Dave
