Dzus dimpler
I need a Dzus dimpler but really don't need to spend $30 to $50 for 4 to 8 holes, total. I'm looking for an idea on how to make one easily(read - cheap ). Most use a big hammer and distort the sheet metal, and in my case, steel hood sides. I have seen some advertised with a bolt and nut that draw together the two pieces of the die without hammering and make the dimple.
Any ideas??
ThanksDave

How about rounding off the end of a bolt of the diameter you want, and weld it to one jaw of your vice grips. Find a thick washer or short section of pipe with the right inner diameter and weld it to the other jaw?????Old guy hot rodder

They work well and no backup needed.

The ones I make nowadays have a FH allen.
The phillips head was the prototype and worked, but an allen is much better.

I wanted to complain about this NZ slang business, but I see it was resolved before it mattered. LOL..
