I've had a set of Sanderson Limefire headers on my '27 for years and years, and they held up great. My Son just bought a set he had them make, and the workmanship is still topnotch IMO.
I think they have either improved their coating since I bought mine, or are doing it inhouse, because the quality is much smoother and shinier on his vs mine
I'm going to buy a set for the T I'm building, but I don't want the downtube, as I plan on running just a baffle in the megaphone.
Here are a couple of pix of my old set and Dans new set.

Sanderson , patriot and hooker are just a few. Most make lake pipes som emake just a side exhaust that you can put baffels in
IMO Summit is by far the cheapest place to buy these.

For the DIY'rs, here's a mockup of a Schoenfeld header kit.
On a 31 roadster on 32 rails fwiw.
Won't take much to get it to fit the 455 Buick.
Nice part is, we ordered the Brodix head option, my pal needed a Brodix header flange so we both made out.
Purchased from Speedway.
These are a whole lot less work than making inside the frame headers for the 455 Buicks in 32 framed cars.C9

They all look great especially on the 3w coupe. But they ain't Lakes. Lakes are a tad bit longer and lovelier, also Lakes look kinda of dumb on a 30's car and many 40's too. But look great on a 50's kustom. If you want good Lakes try the Night Prowlers. They got website and specialize in goodies for customs. Otherwise go visit all of the good header mfgr's for the pipes you seek.

Here's a good link for lake pipes. http://www.bigjims.net/lightspme.htm and here's a pic of their product.....
Somebody posted this link last week, I'll be ordering the triple dumps for the Merc.
The high exit headers are called Lakester headers.....Last edited by Dave Severson; 02-07-2007 at 04:40 PM.

I guess I did things cheep back when my 57 and my 64 I weled a pc. of 2" galvinized pipe threaded on one end to my exhaust pipe and had a 2" cap with a short bar welded to it for lake dumps. I was going down the toll road with regular lakers with them 1/2 open when I got where I was going 200+ mi. the part of the cap that covered the pipe had burned off had to buy new caps.Charlie
Lovin' what I do and doing what I love

We had to put grease on the pipe cap threads so that they would come back off easy after the exhaust heat got to them. I had a couple sets of these myself.
I don't know if these really helped horsepower, but we were coooooooooool.
