Chevy 5.3 question
I have the chance to get a '03 5.3 out of a friends truck. It has been burning antifreeze for a while and he's decided for what it could cost to do possible repairs, he is just going to replace the motor, and I can get it for core charge.
My question is can I use the heads on my older 350. I know I will need a different intake (vortec I assume) I'm not sure about headers.
This is assuming that the heads are not the problem to start with, I am hoping the head gasket's are bad. The motor has 120k on it , but the oil was changed every 3k, and the it seems real tight.
Any help or suggestions would be great. Thank's Ron

5.3 is based on the LS1 design, but is diffrent than the LS1. probably has a blown head gasket. problem is, your going to need a computer to run it.You don't know what you've got til it's gone
