Don - Here is a nut shell version. "For a chevy pump designed for a power Saginaw ball & nut steering box". "Note where the pressure line comes out of body - a nut is there- and behind it is a spring-loaded bypass or pressure regulator valve. Cut a coil off the spring to get a better match between the Chevy pump and the Ford rack". The rest of the article just covers the potential problems with adaptive plumbing between the Chevy pump and Ford rack. I had no problem having a new line made. It just takes money! I have used this set up for quite a few years now and it solved my "twitchy Steering". There are helpful photos with the article.
