Brake Problem?
I just came across a new problem today. I was driving down the road and I hear a noise, in a form of a knocking. Everytime I put my brakes on it goes away. What is this? Any suggestions welcome, thanks!

Previous answers apply. pad loose in front, spring broken in rear, maybe broken pad retainer, or sticking caliper.Charlie

Alright, I just took my tire off on the right front. I checked the disk and the brake, and both seem to be fine. I also looked at the tire bolts and two of them seem to be loose, What do I do?!

Well loose lugs will make a noise while your driving but usualy dosen't stop when the brakes are applied. I assume the noise is coming from the right front. If you take it apart and find nothing wrong when you put it back put some pad glue on the pads before assembly. that may be all it needs????? You can get it at most parts stores. it goes between the pads and the caliper.
If your unsure how to use it ask them when you buy it.Charlie

I found my problem, my lug nuts were 30/1000 to long. They were not allowing my rim to come up snug. I machined all 20 of my lugs to fit properly.

You're welcome Mike, glad it worked out for you. Roger, it's taken a few years but my inventory of excess parts has shrunk a fair bit from 1 1/2 garage stalls to about an eight by eight space. ...
