    Nova gas tank

I have a 74 SS Nova in need of a new gas tank. I purchased one from Classic industries but would not fit due to the curve of the filler neck. The one they sent (GM202) has about a 30 degree curve and the stock one has about 5 degrees. The new filler neck bangs on the car not allowing the tank to mount properly. After I sent them digital pics of the difference between the 2 necks they agreed that it was not the right tank. I sent the tank back. I just thought they sent me the wrong tank. I then ordered a tank from Chevy 2 only and they sent the same tank, if they would take this tank out and try to fit it in a 74 Nova they would see that it does not fit. Does anybody know where i can get the proper tank or do I have to start welding on something that is advertised to fit my vehicle.

Might as well do some mods and make it work. Never have seen a whole lot of parts that fit right out of the box...seems I end up having to modify almost everything to make it fit the application correctly...... At least it's a brand new tank and welding on the filler neck won't risk a major explosion or anything.... On one occasion I returned parts that were obviously wrong and had the company RETURN THE SAME PARTS TO ME with their guarantee that "the computer sez it will fit". I'd sure like to see their dang computer come make it fit!!!!!

Looks like a tank from a 68-72 nova. I have had three novas and they look almost straight at the filler neck.
