    c3 (with L82) and c4 (with pre-LT1 tpi)

i'm looking at vettes, lately. i'm curious what some other car guys think. i think the c3 era '68-'82 were some of the best looking vettes ever made and are fun to drive, but the power does not impress. for performance, a 92-96 c4 would be much better. the handling is very nice and the power is decent. but the LT1 has the problem of very little parts interchangability with other smallblocks. and don't get me started on optispark. so, maybe settling for the pre-LT1 tpi engine makes sense. cam, exhaust and intake could give it a nice bump.

any opinions on it? i don't plan to race it every day or anything, but i don't feel like getting laughed at either.

C3 with a 400 small block. Pretty easy 500 hp and still light on the front end. You can buy 'em for mid 4-digits, build the motor and do an engine swap and still be in it for less than $10-12K.

i own both styes, go with the c3 but make sure it doesnt need paint otherwise you are looking at BIG dollars for paint. strokers are very popular in the c3 and no computers to deal with like the c4
