Sorry 33 no deal. And if somebody were to get inventive and adapt, it would not be a happy day when this thing destroys itself. You didn't state model specifics, but I'm fearful it's a Getrag tranny and those are not anybody's favorite for strength and durability. At least antbody in my world. Shop around, you'll find a suitable trans to make it come together.

get a third gen camaro bellhousing (iroc), that should work for your T5 tranny

One more post on this. Is it a Getrag? Or T5? post some more please. T5 will suffice with interchagable bells. Gus is hoping for T5 and I'm leary about it being a Getrag. We'ed sure like to help you with this swap. We like playing with things that aren't considered normal.

Cool.....GUS got ya covered with his answer. Bell housings should be easily swapped and go purchase the appropriate one to fit your application. and let the fun begin.

Yep, the T5 will fit a standard V8 bell. If and when you upgrade to a V8-style T5, keep your old tailshaft and shifter, it will fit the V8 trans.

Input Shaft Lenth!!!
T-5's really aren't all that strong of a tranny, from my experience anyway, but they do work. also if you plan on using that transmission, check the input shaft length. the knub for the pilot bearing may be too long, you'll be tightening it in and shoving the crank out. I've seen it done, the guy who did it wondered why he couldn't get the engine to roll over. "It rolled then just stoped, I dunno why?" Then he rebuilt the bottom end. All you'll need to do is cut about 1/4 off the end, but check the spline length too.I've got the itch to lay some rubber down!!! ~Thanks grampa! its been 10 years worth of work, I just wish you could see it~

Bolt pattern is way off. Not even close. If that doesn't make ya wanna change the decision on this......it's time to make a fresh game plan.......not to take wind out your sails. If your serious, it's time to sharpen the pencil and do some scratchin'.Last edited by nitrowarrior; 04-08-2007 at 08:35 PM.

33, save yourself the headache. Swap both the bell housing and the trans from a V8 Camaro. The Camaro bell housing will bolt up, the clutch and plate will fit properly, and the trans from the Camaro is stronger. Don't forget to use the right engine mounts, JTR's are the cheapest and easiest.Last edited by lakota; 04-13-2007 at 09:24 PM.
