i have done this 5 or 6 times in the past , but i cannot remember the amount to take out .

remove the bed , behind the 1 bedbolt cut the frame off and remove , i think 9 or 11 inches from the frame . then remove 4 inches off the rear of the frame . and reweld it slowly because it will warp a frame real quick , add gussetts also inside the cuts .
    thats the quick version .
yes i drove ,the trailer didnot drive it's self

Hey Beltran1988, Early Classic Ent. had an article write up on just this type of mod. on just this model of truck. http://www.earlyclassic.com/tech.asp...20No!-Shortbed It gives info on where to cut and how much to cut, this is something I plan on having to do myself because finding a decent shortbed 60-66 GMC truck in the Vegas area is getting tough.
    Good luck, Tony.
