Delco distributor question
I have a 327 sm blk chev in a 1972 chevelle. Was in need
of a distributor, and a friend gave me one, however every
thing looks ok, except it has a plug in the back for 4 wires.
I don't know, but this is probably for a computer or something.
MY question is, before i install this will it work on this old
car?

Give us some more info:
Is it an HEI (big diameter cap with coil in cap)?
If so, take the cap off and look at the ignition module.
How many pins does it have (probably either 4 or 7)?
If it has 7, is there 5 on one side and 2 on the other OR is
it a 4 on one side and 3 on the other?
What is the number on the distributor (stamped on the casting)?

delco distributor question
Robot, it is simular to the one in the upper right hand pic,
however mine is set up in the following way.
four wires coming from the plug, three plug into the
module, and one to ground. the module which handles
the coil, has three wires, one is ground and the other
two plug into the module. this module in turn is plugged
into the module which has the four wires.

I wanted to complain about this NZ slang business, but I see it was resolved before it mattered. LOL..
