Thread: Brake lines

I just about reardy to plumb the master to the prop.valve.Has anyone used braided line instaed of the hard line.I have seen it on some cars but I have not personally used it for brake applications.All feedback appritiated.

i asked the same question .......use hard line ......do a seach on my threads started to read thru it ...

You can use flex braided lines but they are a bit pricey for the whole system. I think the general feeling is that the pedal will be a little spongey as the teflon liner expands. We have a lot of flex line on the sand buggy and the pedal is a bit spongy but we have only a 5/8" MC so there isn't much fluid displacement.

I have all flex lines onsthe rear end and a 36" line to the frame on my Willys. Total of 5 flex lines and my pedal is rock hard.

Thanks,I only need to go about 24 inches with the 2 lines from the master to the prop valve.I have seen it on some cars before.I just hope it will be ok.

George, I am going to use braided out of my M/C to my residual valves because of a tight clearance issue between the M/C and tranny. I really see no problem, after all, hoses and braided lines are used at the terminal ends anyway.
