header problems
Hi, First Time On This Web Site, Hope Someone Can Help.
I Am Doing Up A 56 Ford. I Put In A 347ci Crate Motor And Am Trying To Find Headers To Fit. The Motor Has Dart Pro 1 Aluminum Heads.the Problem Is The Drivers Side Has The Steering Box And Clutch Linkage In The Way. I Tried Shortie Headers From A Mustang, But They Hit The Steering Box. Hoping Someone Out There Has Done This Before. Thanks

Yup, done the same swap. Had to build the headers... Don't know if anyone is making them now or not.... Might check with Hedman or Hooker...Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

I used headers from Hooker that were for a Ford Ranchero with a 302 and 4 spd. They fit like a glove. Although I had a C-4 behind a 351 Windsor yours should fit as good.
Good luck - Jerry
P.S. Mine was a 56 Club Sedan

You could try Sanderson Headers. They are a little spendy, but they specialize in hot rods and tough fit applications.

I was going to say Mustang Shorty from MAC but you said you tried that already. I think you can use a header from a 70's F100 pickup as well because those are made to clear the wider power steering boxe's. Another solution is to try out these forums and ask the guy's there...
