    Another Tall Block?

Ive been doing alot of reading on the building of a 427 tall deck, in the wee hours of the mornin...lol I was wondering if I could shoe horn one in a 69 camaro that has A/C, and still be able to run the A/C?? The other thing is could I sqeeze it under a factory cowl hood? Would this motor be good for a daily street aplication? I am planning on runnig a standard trans, like a 5 or 6spd with a 12 bolt/ 3:23s.... Or I was thinking about building a 377 small block... Or should I just try to find a 454? I want some good street power and reliablity....

I read alot on making the 427t a big cube screamer, and Im all ears...

My uncle has a 68 RS/SS rag top with a stout 396/4spd, I would would like to build something to wipe him up and down the street...

    Thanks
    Harmon

Sorry for grammar/ spelling Im purdy tired

'69's came from the factory with a big block and A/C, just a matter of having the right components to set it in there... Because of the increased deck height, maybe some clearance issues, but probably nothing too difficult to overcome....

any thing that bolts to the head like the ac and alt and has any thing bolted to the intake will be to short if you use stock low deck brackets. if you use a alum head they may have a rased port may be abit harder to over come this with short deck headders . and there other things you will have to deal with you can get 512 cid out of a 454 stock block and about 530 out of a tall deck the work need to make the tall deck work it may not be worth it less you can fab all the parts and make headders or very deep poctets i have a 632 under a stock gto hood so yes you could get the hood down but i did alot of work to get the engine down in the frame made engine mounts. cut the crossmenber and box it . lower the cross link and build a new pittman arm and idle arm . cut down the steering column to help with more room for back tube and run steering joints cut the steering shaft for bouble D shaft

    Thanks for the info guys

I dont have a tall block or a bbc yet, but was planning on running alum heads and headers/ roller cam. I could probably make my own brackets and headers for the tall block, and I was thinking about making a entire subframe... But is it worth building a tall block vs a standard bb? Would it be more expensive either way...I dont have much experience with bbc, so I am great ful for any help.... I would like to know some cam specs for a nice streetable cam and what your opions are on standard bbc to tall deck builds would be, Or if I should just build a small block....

    Thanks
    Harmon
