late model seats in the bel

Anyone have any luck putting late model bench seats in 60s chevs? My bel is the same as any biscayne or impala, so I'm sure there are some ideas outh there.

sticker shock for replacement seats and upholstry is getting in the way of my budget build.

    Any ideas help. thanks.

Some foam from another seat scored cheaply ,and a new material for the seat covers ,use the hog ring plier to secure the seat material to the metal bar at the bottom, take yer time to evenly stretch everything and you will have a new seat on the cheap.
Its like 170 bucks for a new seat material,30 bucks for the hog ring pliers, and whatever price you can get a donor seat for that has good foam on it.
I would use the old frame ,it fits and has the correct tilt and seat height for your ride.
Its gunna take longer than u thought and its gunna cost more too(plan ahead!)

Newer seats have much more structure/framework attached to the floor, and aren't easily adaptable to older cars. I searched for hours for usable bucket seats, and couldn't find anything that would work.

I'd check a Pick-N-Pull for larger cars - Caprice, etc, and see what looks good.
