front brake hose frame attachment and more ???????
Got the front MII front suspension right. Now its time for the brakes and lines, along w the Speedway 11" front brake kit I ordered the braided hose kit. but now i am not sure where to weld on the attaching tab for the frame end of the hose or how much slack I should build in. - over or under the chassis -Anyone?
next - the disributing valve/fitting inline between the front discs - can I use any one off a donor car or are they design use specific?
here is my planned setup- under floor mounted Ford nonpower Dual MC 2# residual inline w that block to distribute the fluid forward to the 11" discs
from MC back to 10# residual next a adjustable Proportioing Valve then rear drums , Am I right ?Last edited by Dgas56; 09-23-2008 at 04:47 PM.

Position the tab for the brake hoses so that there is still some slack in the hose when the wheels are turned all the way full lock in both directions....yet not so much slack that the braided hose can get pinched by the suspension or rubbing against any of the components. It will probably be at a point on the bottom side of the frame rail, often to the back side of the spindle but try it in other positions to determine where it will work best.
You are correct on the residual valves... Also, make sure the master cylinder is designed for front disc and rear drum, and yes, the proportioning valve goes in the rear brake lines. With an underfloor master cylinder, I usually position mine so the adjustment knob comes through the floor, below the driver's seat for accessibility. Make sure the knob is in a place where it won't be bumped and inadvertently turned!!!! Can lead to some real excitement when the brakes are applied!!!! Last, be advised that bleeding the brakes with a low mount master cylinder is much easier with a power bleeder!!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!
