Fan Shrouds, Where to get them
I was just wondering where I could get a fan shroud for my 51 chevy deluxe. Its got a suburban radiator in it and a flex fan, but no shroud. Anybody know where I could get one at for it or have one made? I have seen those chrome universal ones, but they don't seem like they would work to good, anybody have any experienced with those?
All suggestions welcome
Thanks

You could do an internet search "Fan Shrouds". You should get a lot of hits on sites for different manufacturers and for vehicles.
There was an article in one of the hot rod publications recently on fabbing your own from fiber glass or metal (tin, aluminum, etc.) You can also purchase them from some retailers made of ABS plastic. You have to cut the hole for your application. I think I have seen them in Southern Rods and Parts ads. If you are using an electric fan you could always buy the Cooling Components fan/shroud unit to replace what you have now. They run about $225.Bob

And watch out for those "flex fans." They can actually give less cooling that a stock fan with clutch. It's got to do with wrong pitch. There is no substitute for cubic inches

Yeah I was going to go with a clutch fan, (right now its got a flex fan w/ a spacer) but space would be very very tight as it is already, I got a suburban shroud the other day from the yard and it was way too big, but I trimmed it and got it to fit and cover most of the radiator and then found out that the big block shrouds are much thinner, so I will have to keep an eye out for those.

posterboard cuts easy, and duct tapes into place easily.
No seriously.. posterboard for the mock-up, then pull it out and lay fiberglass on it. Or, take the mockup to a local fabricator shop and have it bent for ya..
Education is expensive. Keep that in mind, and you'll never be terribly upset when a project goes awry.

If you have a Suburban radiator get a Suburban shroud. Check with NAPA. Trim to fit.1951 Chevy 3600 Long Box
