Still waiting, but may have to take it back without getting all things done as my hot rod season(i.e. dry weather and warm) is here!
I have talked with my mechanic friend, and I know he wants it out of his shop too, I think the holiday and family obligations/vacation are the big delay right now. In the mean time I'm working on a few other pieces like the front fenders, thinking of using a fiberglass patch on the front fender where the floor board bolts to the fender. It is a spot that will be covered up when the floor boards are attached so it won't be a cosmetic thing, and there is enough solid metal there for strength already, just some cancer damage that has been ground out and had por 15 applied to it. I figure a fiberglass patch will be a lot stronger than bondo with glass mixed in? Any thoughts? Metal patching here will not work with what I have on hand, and the fenders are paper thin in the sheet metal department." "No matter where you go, there you are!" Steve.

Wow it has been a long time since I have updated this thread. First off my wife has decided she wants a divorce after 19 years of marraige and 29 years of knowing eachother, so things are relly changing, starting with the sale of our hoome and division of assets.
Fortunately she is not being mean spirited or vindictive, and we have been able to continue a friendship during the whole process. I will be able to keep the truck and other vehicles I own, as will she with her car and truck. Life is on a very accellerated course in getting the house ready to sell, filling out millions of forms and seeking advice from tax specialist. I believe we will both be able to part with enough money to put toward purchasing new homes in our community, and in decent neighborhoods, etc.
So now that that is all said. My friend Randy who has been working on my truck reports that he has had to modify the shifter mechanism from lokar as he ran into the same problems as I did, with the shifter, not adjusting between gears correctly. He has also gone over some wiring, tuned the engine, fixed the carb, and is working on adjusting the brakes. Fortunately he still has the truck so I have space to deal with storage until the house is sold. Anyway that is my update for now. Take care I will post more as things progress." No update on truck trying to sell house, on Market for a month and no offers, time to fight for price drop with my soon to be Ex.
I don't want this to sound like whinning, it's just a hard process to go thru.
My wife is a Penny Pincher, and very stubborn She'd be happy for me to have a nervous break down and die, before, missing any opportunity for an extra buck. I let her know that living with her is not working, and that, renting another place will make it impossible to pay current mortgage on this place. I told her it's time to drop price and move on, that she wanted this not me and now she needs to deal with the fact that maybe her decision wasn't as lucrative as she imagined. I am slowly dying stayiong here with her, and if intersts rate climb, the house will lose more value, as well as what we can afford will drop. Pray for me! Thanks
P.S. truck is safe and sound, not giving that up." "No matter where you go, there you are!" Steve.

So sorry to read about your marriage ending Steve, it is never pleasant and even if both parties are in agreement and want to settle without the legal quagmire where the only winner is the lawyers, it is a darn painful thing for anybody to go through. I would of celebrated my 36th wedding anniversary on the 1st of September if I was still married and later next month I will mourn the 18th anniversary of been a single man again. So yeah, it hurts like hell. I will pray that everything happens gently and without major issues for you both Steve, take care of yourself and try and smile at the positives.
I maybe a little crazy but it stops me going insane.

Been there, done that, and T-shirts were not offered, free or for sale. So what's the status of the truck? Everything else is just life events that are not going to be influenced by anything said here. Are you EVER going to reclaim that truck from the shop that's holding it captive?Roger
