Yeah, Cali gas tax sucks! No other way to say it, it just sucks!
On your Harley, doesn't it have a quarter turn shutoff valve in the line from the tank? If not I'd put one in, and consider shutting it off and running the carbs dry after your ride when you know it's gonna be a while until the next one.... Doesn't help your tank liner issue, but keeps from gunking up carbs.Roger

Yes it does and usually when I return home I shut the gas valve off and then leave bike running until I get it into the garage. That seems to help quite a bit!" "No matter where you go, there you are!" Steve.

Update. New fuel pump fixed all carb issues, now just need to get it out of the garage and run long enough to get the carb cleaner flushed out! Last thing in carb was seafoam, which though it is combustable it smokes too" "No matter where you go, there you are!" Steve.

Once again a long time from last update with little progress during the time lapse. I actually did fix one big thing and that was paying the ransom fee to Photobucket to get all my post pictures unblocked. I paid their $60.00 fee for a year of unlocking this build and other threads posted for AudioKarma site, and other hobbies!
Carb is still problematic It's going to get one last chance until I drain tank, remove carb and attempt a rebuild. If that doesn't work may look for a different brand of carburator as this is the second edelbrock to be problematic. But ultimately it has to do with crappy California gas!
In the mean time I'm finishing a Bluetooth high end speaker build project from Parts Express. The last picture is of my new rescue dog called Wednesday. I got her from the SPCA back in February. She was 4 years old, had bad anxiety issues and didn't seem to trust anyone to pet her, ect. She was on Zoloft, and had been returned by to separate families for not liking kids who scared her. Well 10 months later, she comes up to strangers and lets them pet her, she is off all her meds, and has become a great companion!

Your investing the time, energy and compassion to rescue Wednesday is GREAT! I believe that had I not had a friend contact me about Chase needing a home 2 years ago things would be very different today, and I might not be here! Having a 4 legged sidekick is never a bad thing, unless they MEOW!Roger

O.K. I've been busy working on truck and it's home...the garage. Been waiting 6 years to save up and get the time off to remove the clutter, get F1 body panels back on the truck, and repair the garage floor and insulate the walls so it's more functional. Where to start. After divorce 6 years back, I was between homes in an apartment for 4 months with pretty much 20 years of junk moved into storage. Upon getting this house, I had 4 days from when I was allowed to move in, to whwn I had to move out of apartment or pay for another month, same with storage unit. So everything got packed into the garage which had busted floors (no rebar in cement) So this is what the garage looked like until the last few weeks.

Next I started to get fenders and running boards back on truck because it needed to sit outside for the next few weeks while garage floor was replaced.

Next continue emptying garage to a storage unit and clear out everything other than the water heater.

And now for this morning. They packed the gravel down and then placed this special moisture membrane down. Now they are cutting rebar

You're smart to have them include the moisture barrier! I didn't think about it on my barn and the floor sweats like a ...... just say it gets wet as the temps start warming up, and in extreme weather changes. You're gonna love having a nice smooth floor to work on!Roger
