Sorry to hear about the hospital folks and the coupe! We have an OR Tech with a history of violent reactions to vaccines. He Was forced to get the Vaccine. He just got back to work after a year of suffering, His body basically inflamed, Neurologic pain requiring opioids, swollen joints through out his body, toes and fingers, toes got stress fracture because of the swelling. He said he has been walking with a cane for 4 months, finally got to point where he could sustain physical therapy, he is still working to get back to 100%. The inflamation lead to opioid addiction and withdrawl. Hospital basically said come back to work or lose your job, so he came back and is working 12 hour shifts on weak legs and healing foot fractures. So yah, people can have side effects to vaccines that could be worse than the disease! We lost quite a bit of the veteran nurses and staff during these last three years. Funny enough, most of the remaining staff have contracted Covid at least once or twice in the last 3 years, all wearing full PPE.
Today is gas draining day on different note. Hope the coupe flushed out whatever caused your problem. Trying to figure out a simple way to flush it out, was thinking of looking thru the fill hole in the bed of the truck with flash light it is aluminum so may be easier to clean. The clear/opaque chemical containers should allow me to see any sediment build up from the tank that drains out. Figure I can add acetone after draining and see if any other stuff washes out. Tank is mounted between two boxed frame rails with a lip that sits on top of the frame and directly bellow the truck bed. So rather not have to reove it to do a steam or boil cleaning unless absolutely necessary!" "No matter where you go, there you are!" Steve.

Just read up on this stuff. You pour it in old gas tank and wait 24 hours, then start your vehicle up and drive. Says have extra gas filters. Works to make gas fine to use again and has enzymes that disolve any sludge and gunk from tank. Figure worth giving it a try!

this will be interesting to watch. Once we see what came out, maybe we can see what changes after mixing in this stuff.

Yes. I drove 30 miles thru bay area traffic to get a 64 ounce container, good for 250 galloons, I have like 4-6 gallons in tank after using a high precision tool, a wood paint stick to measure the volume! Drove home and stopped at Costco to get new eye glasses, hit road 20 minutes later and the highway came to a stunning stop. Accident up the road backed traffic at 3:00ish up 6 miles. Once past that, the real surprise a grass fire that was jumping across the highway for the next few miles. Fire six feet from the edge of the 2 lane hi way, the canvas top MR2 convertible I was driving , thru white out smoke. Thought I might actually die ashes landed on car in traffic moving 2-5 mph and fires. went thru at least five areas like this until I could get the H*** out of there. Can't imagine the PTSD Fire crews go through, similar to Military service I imagine. So here is a even more profound respect for our uniformed members of service placing their lives in danger daily!Last edited by stovens; 06-27-2022 at 07:18 PM.

Well.. I must say that although the fire crews and all uniformed staff deserve our respect and admiration..
You driving that distance and in that traffic deserve similar respect and admiration for working so hard to get a bottle of "stuff" for the hot rod! Well done Steve, yep you got the fever! LOL 8-)

Your carb is clean compared to this

The nastiest carb I've seen on a running car, it's the quadrajet om my 76 Vette an after it was rebuilt it's seen nothing but Lucas injector cleaner.Ken Thomas

Sleep! Just kidding, 15 yards of mulch getting dropped in driveway tomorrow for my weekend off will be spreaded over back yard orchard and side yard area to help repress weeds, and retain water in soil. 3 months later than usual.
For the truck getting the fiberglass lowers trimmed to fit the steel upper front fenders, then an over haul of wiring routing in a better way to get randome long runs currently there away from any potential heat sorce or chaffing situan. Will then stat the dash guages and headlights, ect.. wired in. Also my steel floor panels need the help of some POR 15 rust converting paint. Lastly lots of wiring research on runing wires and protecting them into a more factory like harness instead og just lose wires and help there would be appreciated as to what to used to shealth the exposed wire as my luck with electrical tape in past years was a failure!" Hey there. Truck in good, dealing with work rollout at Hospital of 106 million dollar software rollout. Went live at work last weekend so speding tons of overtime as a super user for the software for my unit, which is labor and delivery, Neonatal intensive care(my specialty) Pediatrics and post pparttum units all with different software sub programs. This has kept me busy along with bedside nursing for 15 months of weekly meetings via zoom with over 499 people from software company(we are using UCSF's version of this software) so we have been tailoring it to our hospital therefor this version of EPIC is called APeX and has been tailored to UCSF over ten years, and 2 billion dolors in customization ovder the last ten year) therefore we work with our build thru UCSF and noit EPIC, confusing to all I'm Sure. Anyway, imagine every aspect of every task changing overnight, and training never was with finished project. Now imaging trouble shooting all the glitches . In the last 7 days we have filed over 1600 IT glitches from every where from Pharmacy to NICU charting, to Radiology, to Admitting, even to house keeping where they get electronic assignments of where to clean, only to find nothing needs to be done where the computer is sending them.
Anyway this has been a monster project and now that the system is live creating havic and will continue, until fixes are done. From a diagnostic end I love the trouble shooting, and hooking up with the specific specialists to solve problems, I don't love the panic and anxiety of people needing help all at the same time. Since go live over 400 EPIC specialists have come and spread out to all the units and ares these folks are call At the Elbow technicians(ATE's for short) very helpfull folks, also all the UCSF builders are on 24/7 support either a tour hopital or remotely.
So this sort of explains why my personal projects are on hold, and why the universe seems to make the 2003 MR2 Toyota ack up when I don't have the time to fix it! Have three issues currently working on it with the most priority as it's my daily(best gas mileage car). Rear wind on a replacement convertable roof separating partially, so ordered new Toyota OEM roof, but glued it to stay on, the radio going out on passenger side speakers with a delightfully entertaining works great when I drive to work in stereo, at 2 pm(hottest time of day) and then Only driverside mono on way home sometimes 2 am when its cool outside. Long story short, bought a uesd factory radio from auto wrecker and swapped out only to continue as a same problem which ruled out a right amp short or failure, only to find replacement has it's own sense of humor where iwhen you turn volume up it randomly rolls volume down as you turn it up. Talked with the auto wrecker, they refunded my money and said just keep it it's not worth it for them to pay 35 dollars for it to be shipped back. They were great because all their parts are warrented for 1 year. So after installing and removing the replacement and reinstalling the original, I also took door panel off and traced all wires until the bury in the wiring harness. Checked and cleaned all the different detacheable plugs in the circuit, cheched all wire contact from back of radio to the back of the separate tweeter and mainwoofer/driver. And just for fun jiggled all the connecting points with music on to try to get the passenger side right channel to fail but no luck stereo whole time. So now it just lets me enjoy stereo on way to work and then mono on way home. The car and I have a love hate relationship. The OEM new roof (comes with windoww built in) was 2200.00, the installation will be 1400.00 on thursday next week. It takes twelve hours. 2 hours to remove old and 10 hours to install new! So MR2 with it's grinning front grill is keeping me busy, thank god for the overtime pay
Wow such a long story to just say, I can't wait to work on projects I want and not on all the other stuff! Did I mention its cider season!" "No matter where you go, there you are!" Steve.

Sometimes life gets in the way! Working neonatal ICU is a full time adrenalin rush anyway, and with new software implementation issues on top? It's gotta put the "intense" in "Intensive Care"! Good for you for all you're doing!
I bet the truck will still be there when things calm down, and we'll look forward to some updates when the time is right. And that radio/audio issue is just weird! Stereo one way, Mono coming home! Gremlins!Roger

those glass filters break. hell of a gas fire when they do. bad as the plastic ones that split.

I'm not arguing about the intensity of a a gas fire should it break, but I'm struggling to understand what could possibly cause a glass tube filter to break? It's rated for well over the fuel pressure the pump applies, so it takes a focused impact to break, seems to me. How do "...those glass filters break" without impact? Just trying to understand.Roger
