    I'm not sure about the width,but the Monte is a coil spring car and the 50 has leaf springs.Not a problem if you want to or have the equipment to change all the mountings.Lot of work to go thru when a camaro/firebird or nova of the 70- 80's era is a bolt in....

    I also think the late 70's/80's used a 7.5 ring gear.
    This would not be my first choice in a 3,500 + weight car.

    Yeah your probally right, When I did it I used a camaro 12 bolt posi, spring perches where a perfect match, that rear came from a 78 camaro but thinking about it, it more than likely was not the oem rear
