blastolene 702 headlights
aside from the gorgeous coachwork on the blastolene 702 the headlights were just fantastic. I also saw these on another real old model that had the same headlights and matching smaller turn signals mounted on the fenders.
can anyone tell me more about this design. looked real old time projector type and super cool.

Those are Woodlite headlights. I think the deal is they were an aftermarket light used in the '30's by various car builders, generally of high end cars (Packards, Rolls Royce, etc) Sort of an art deco touch. Many car builders back then did not make their own headlights, but used companies like Guide as vendors. Woodlites were not on the common cars, but just the more expensive models, I believe.
An original, nice set goes for like thousands of dollars. There are reproductions being made, but they are reported to be very rough casting of questionable quality, and require tons of shaping and buffing to get them done. You will see these reproductions on ebay from time to time. The ad says "some finishing required" but that seems to be an optimistic opinion.

Those are Woodlite head and park lights.
We've had a couple threads on them back 4-5 years ago but it looks like the main one died in one of the server failures; http://www.clubhotrod.com/forums/sho...light=woodliteLast edited by Bob Parmenter; 01-19-2008 at 10:16 PM.
