Upholstry question -separate the seat portion from panel sea
I just acquired an awesome set from a 35-46 chev. panel/burb seats ( bomber style-low curved solid metal backs).
I having a bugger of a time with disassembly- some is due to rust ( Pacific NW), &
the rest is I don't know.....
.....there are two phillips head screws( located lower portion of seatbacks )to remove from the seatbacks.. HELP PLEASE..
What am I over-looking????

There may be some clips holding the seat to the back. Have you tried to pry the seat from the back and look in there and see if there is anything on the inside holding them? Some Mustang seats are made that way.Go Hokies!!!!!! ACC CHAMPS '04,'07,'08

ps. after I get them powder coated & re-upholstered, I'll post a tech & picture of (re) assembly.

Seat bases are quite rusty..which caused every bolt to snap off fairly easily..
thanks Itoldyouso, seats came from a friendly seller on craigslist -less than $150 /pair.
But check out this wonderful early upholstery work- a real craftsperson !

some of the older kenworth truck seats have the same button design in them. we're getting ready to do a set for a customer. I have always like the old style seats like that. great craftmanship for sure
