1955 f100 questions
I was at my parents farm for Christmas and they gave me a project 1955 f100 pickup.
I opened the hood, expecting a six, and found a Y-block and a three-speed column shift.
I've seen tons of intakes for these engines...tri-power, quad, dual-quad, I even saw a Fenton with six 94's.
Can you get headers, valves, springs, rockers, camshafts, etc...for these anymore without spending a fortune??? I know it will be more $ than a small block, but I always liked vintage (readddball) engines.Ensure that the path of least resistance is not you...

Try here http://www.ford-y-block.com/yblockpage.htm
I haven't used this place myself so I can't give you a recommendation one way or another concerning their parts or service.

check out the Speedway catalog theres a bunch of goodies for 'em in there. Gotta warn you though my uncles 32 vicky has a full race 272 y block in it with reworked 312 heads, headers you know the full works. It gets beat all the time by everything. A Y-block just isnt a revving motor and theres just not all that much torque, there cool to look at and sound good but the performance sucks."its better to rule in hell, than serve in heaven."
Ok gang. It's been awhile. With everything that was going on taking care of my mom's affairs and making a few needed mods to the Healey, it was June before anything really got rolling on this...
