Another dragcar in the shop!!!!
The vette owner from a couple weeks back brought a buddy up from Georgia today to drop off his 68 Chevelle dragcar. This one has glass doors, hood and decklid, everything else is steel. Had it in someone elses shop and the guy was screwing him over...parts are gone, new dings have surfaced, more money, money, money all the time... anyway, I got it now, so he'll be happy with it fairly soon!! Oh yeah, 547 BBC! Gonna be the same purple as the nose of the vette I did, then some shade of purple flames (lighter or darker, not sure yet) on the nose with airbrushed badging as per factory...more to follow as I progress! If its not worth doing right, its not worth doing... This one has taken its toll on us!! It had been at another shop where it was "destroyed" according to the owner. We were contracted to straighten it out and have finally gotten most of it done!! Got color and 2 coats of clear on the main body tub today. Hoping to get everything else done tomorrow, then wetsand and add Violet pearl flames to the front and down the doors and will pin those in black. Also have to airbrush the "SS 547" badges on the sides and the Chevelle script across the front facia. Heres todays progress. If its not worth doing right, its not worth doing... Ok gang. It's been awhile. With everything that was going on taking care of my mom's affairs and making a few needed mods to the Healey, it was June before anything really got rolling on this...
