    Ford Axles

Is it possible for a Ford 9" rear to have Chevy axles? I just pulled my wheel to check my rear brakes and found that. Someone took a 4 1/2 lug hole(bolt pattern) brake drum and drilled extra holes to match the axle lug(bolt pattern) which are 4 3/4. Did Ford make a 4 3/4 lug (bolt pattern)axle for the 9' rear? I know for sure it's a 9" Ford rear with 3.70 gears. I have just never seen a Chevy lug pattern on a Ford axle. Or do you think someone took a Chevy axle and had them resplined to fit a Ford rear? Thanks for your help!

    Ford axles

Thanks! The drums were redrilled and he did a lousy job of it. But, the axles have not been touched. That is as far as for redrilling them. I looked really good and can't find where anything was redrilled or welded on the axle. I guess I'm going to have to try and find a Chevy drum close to what I need. Then just hope it works. Thanks again!

Could be a set of aftermarket axles, can have them drilled for most any bolt pattern you want....
