axle tube id?
Hi all, i am trying to figure out what rear i have in my car, these are all the numbers i can find
Front of pinion, 388/0042-12/37/gm/065
axel tube CR1220 B
can anybody tell me what rear this is and what it came out of?

Can you take a good picture of it from front and back? That will help.
I can tell you it is a 3.08 ratio (12 into 37)

i will get a pic, it has the 11 inch inverted v rear cover, wheel cylinders bolt in place and looks like no c clips, axles bolted in. and it does have a posi unit.

I made a mistake the axle tube code is GR1220 B ,, not cr1220

Those axle codes generally don't mean much identification wise. They have something to do with the manufacturing process I think. Not sure what you mean by inverted V.
Get us the pictures, they are the only way to know for sure. Without pictures all you will get are wild guesses.

We managed to get a couple of other small things taken care of. One was blacking out the front of the core support. When the sun hit the front of the car just right that green paint on the core...
