Thanks guys. Looking at it from underneath it looks to be one bolt. I'm betting that the ford lincoln thing is just the bolt on mount, not the engine block, which is easily solved by buying ford brackets. I'm waiting tell my friend gets here later in the week to muscle out the engine. I just bolted it back to gether to get it inside until thursday. I'm now leaning heavily towards a rebuild as my vacation plans for the summer pooped out! But that leaves me 1900.00 bucks to put towards the engine. I'm willing to bet someone will rebuild it with parts I buy for close to that. Then I have no worries when the beast goes back in.
Also found a tranny place that will tear it down, inspect the parts and make a list of what needs to be replaced. If I don't want to do it then, they will put it back together. I also saw some high performance c6 trannys on Summits sight that are pretty resonable. All in all it will work in the end, and if customization is needed, a friend who is our old car mechanic will do what needs to be done to make it fit right." "No matter where you go, there you are!" Steve.
