Looking for ideas
I'd like to figure out a new color scheme for a '66 Caprice, possible new wheel treatment, but would like to see a rough sketch before I spend the cash to do it right. Is anyone familiar with any computer software/programs, either available online or through paint companies/body shops where you can input a picture of your car and then tweak the colors, etc?
I've heard of software at tire shops where you can do it with wheels to get an idea of what the final look should be.
Thanks for any input.

Try the wheels, and leave the paint that was a nice looking color from stock.

What color is the interior, or will you change it?

Thanks for the posts. Interior is matching mid-blue vinyl/cloth, carpet slightly darker blue. I've wondered what the old girl would look like with a cream pearl-coat, or really getting radical with a two-tone cream over burgundy or cream over royal blue. Being able to tweak it first on the computer would help with the ideas. Might just stick with the color it is, just for nostalgia.
Interior - ? I like the general color, but I recently saw a crushed velvet that caught my eye, could see it in a deep blue.
Don't have the cash to really work it over yet, but I figure I could pump 20K into this piece of classic iron and have a unique ride, or drop the same into a new rice burner or pre-owned newer cookie-cutter car. Decisions, decisions. I tend to gravitate toward a new '66.
Thanks again.

Beautiful Car, 66-I had one and loved it. I really like you Color, wouldn't change a thing.Have you ever noticed that anybody driving slower than you is an idiot, and anyone going faster than you is a maniac?

I agree with the stock color. Leave it and concentrate on the wheels and tires. A set of polished Torque-Thrust II's would look great, IMO. But I am a big fan of 5-spoke wheels. You could install airbags for a lot less than a paint job.

It is hard to beat that color on mid-60s boats. However, it does need a little bit of rust removal and a new coat. Jury's still out on the color.
I put 5-spoke Cragar s/s mags on it about six years ago - wanted to stay with the "classic" wheel look. Sadly, they are already starting to show some age - a little rust here and there. I'm going to try to play with bigger rims/lower profile tires with the software.
Air bags are a definite possibility - been considering this for a few years. I just like toys......

I wanted to complain about this NZ slang business, but I see it was resolved before it mattered. LOL..
