No such thing as a dumb question?

As much as I hate to admit it, I can't figure something about my '69 El Camino

I rewiring the car with Painless and I've found this connection/box on top of the steering column that I can't identify. I've made the ignition connections and the turn signal connections and don't seem to have any wires left for this gem It doesn't show up in the Painless directions (unless it is right under my nose)nor does it appear in any other books that i've got.

So I'm looking for help in identifying this thing and its function in life. The first shot is looking down the steering column over the ignition connections on the column.

And the second pic is a view from the pax side.

During the demolition of the wiring of the car I remember pulling wires and thinking "should I be paying attention to this?....Nawwwww, I've got Painless to pull me through."

Which brings me to this request for help, if know what this puppy is, I'd appreciate a note sharing you knowledge.

    Thanks!

you should have 2 plugs leading from the ignition. they only fit on the neutral switch one way.
