Ford 9 inch question
Short of removing an axle, is there any way to find out what spline axle i have? the tag is still on the assy. if thats any help.
i'm looking to get a taller ratio and not have a limited slip as this is for a dailey driver, no racing or off roading.
thanks

other than getting sweaty and a bit greasy, its only a 30 min job.that way you will know for sure. more than likely its a 28 spline. what did it come out of?

the tag on the pumpkin says on the top line: WFF-B 1EC
bottom line : 3L50 9. 3 361A
from what i can gather it's a 3:50 ratio with limited slip, i'm not sure how to
decode what year and what it came out of.

Might help out a bit....note the part about the hub end of the axle. 28 spline have a rectangle shape in them. 31 spline a small hole in the center with 2 outer holes on each side. That should tell you spline count.Last edited by FFR428; 05-21-2008 at 02:40 PM.

Thanks Guys,
It has a small hole in the center of the axle head and two large ones on the outer edge.
