Are Vortec Heads Really Worth it???
I've considered using vortec on my 350 but have run into some problems....First I live in Peterborough ,Ontario Canada and ive had a hell of a time finding a set. the few sets I did find wont be sold seperately from the engine and ones i've found in the paper i'm looking around $600 just for the heads...I'm rrunning a 1977 350 4bolt with a crame cam, edelbrock airgap intake, carter 700cfm, and headers.....through these problems i've looked for other options and through an old friend i can get the heads i have now rebuilt and get 202 valves done for $400...would it still work good with those heads redone..is it worth it...

vortec heads
I have purchased a set of these heads from jegs recently they are going on a 355. in looking in to these heads i found that it was cheaper to buy them new from jegs then to buy some at a junk yard and get them rebuilt. also with these heads you can run a cam with as much as .475 lift
