You're right, this side went much easier than the first. I had to go back to the other one and do it a little different, as a matter of fact. These "factory reproduction outer rocker panels" don't fit worth a darn. But I'll use them anyway. Everything you'll see looks Ok, just the bottom lip isn't bent right. More to come soon, I'm concentrating on getting the rockers and the floor finished first.

Looks good Falconvan! I'm sure you have, but make sure you measure everything over and over or else you'll have to cut it apart like i did and fix it when the doors wouldnt fit back in the openings.

I was afraid of that so I'm planning a test fit on the doors as soon as I get the other rocker done. That must have really hacked you off! I'd have been slinging tools everywhere in a fit of rage.

I worked with an ex marine who named all of his hammers. the one pounder was dubbed the intimadator, and the 8 lbs sledge was the terminator. I liked it so much that mine now sport the names on the handles. Makes me laugh and think of simpler days!

Looks like you're having fun now, remember measure 3x & weld once.
Don't know if you have one or not but if you lived closer I'd let you use the metal break a friend lent me to make your door rockers....joe

I need to go back and read this thread over but I saw 48 Plymouth and had to read it. I have a 46 Chrysler 3 window bus. coupe so of course I came here to see what you have. The metal on these cars a THIN as ice and the floors in mind look great with surface rust but they can be poked through with a screw driver still! I need to redo my floors like your doing here. I will definately keep up with this post. It's looking great though and you have a nice car! Even though these things look huge, the metal is thin but not a single flat panel on them so it keeps them rigid/strong and they weigh less than a Toyota Corolla supposedly.

This came out better than I'd hoped. Thanks for the comments, everyone! I finished the drivers rocker and test fit the doors. Both looked good. I took the whole floor section from the sedan and cut the sides back 2" and cleaned up the ends of the floor braces. Luckily enough, the sedan and the coupe floor measure the same from front to back. Then I cleaned up all the mating edges and slid it right into place. Now I just weld the whole thing all the way around. i still need to make front pans, those were bad on both cars.

Thanks, Joe. I borrowed a $49.95 special from a friend. It actually worked OK but I wouldn't try to bent anything heavier than 16 Ga with it.

Falcon nice coming together fast huh . Are you planning on driving it as soon as the weather breaks warm . Some times i see the pic properties but no pics so is that the floor pics i am missing here .
