Didn't Paul Simon sing a song about mexichrome?
Joke.. It was Kodachrome..
Education is expensive. Keep that in mind, and you'll never be terribly upset when a project goes awry.

Maybe consider going monochrome (body color) on the bumpers until you're ready to spend the money to have them plated....then maybe it looks more like a "design choice" than a than a budgetary restraint....just a thought"It is not much good thinking of a thing unless you think it out." - H.G. Wells

Made this to go between the back seat; basically a spacer that will get painted dash color.1 Corinthians 1:27

Hit it hard this weekend; I finished the mounts for the rear seat and made some final alterations to the base. Now it's ready to go to the sandblaster. I also built mounts for the console along with making a shifter trim plate from some aluminum scrap and mounted a Plymouth emblem to it. Now its ready for a skim coat of filler and some primer to get it ready for color. I also dug out all the grill pieces and put the grill together. That was a bear; had to sort through a big box of extra grill pieces for the best ones, fix multiple broken studs, and polish each piece. There's about 20 separate pieces to this grill; glad I have some spares just in case.1 Corinthians 1:27

Real good progress you're making. And the results are spectacular.
I'm diggin' the rear seat project. Can't wait for the next update.

Fixing old grills from pieces brings back memories of an old 60's BMW I used to have! BMW = Break My Wallet.
Nice work, and great little added touch with the Plymouth signage." "No matter where you go, there you are!" Steve.

Hope you all had a Merry Christmas! I got a lot of little stuff done plus finished up the console and got some more trim polished and put on. I'm hoping to have all the trim on the car except the bumpers and rockers trim by the end of the week. One of the rocker moldings needs a lot of straightening and I've decided to order a set of Briz aluminum ribbed bumpers. They look pretty cool and are 1/2 the price of re-chromed stock ones.1 Corinthians 1:27

it's hard to not like those ribbed bumpers, they add a lot to the look.
I wanted to complain about this NZ slang business, but I see it was resolved before it mattered. LOL..
