your going to have to test this to make sure it works because crackle as an automotive finish, well... it's the first I'v heard of such an idea... but at the craft stores, there is an acrylic based medium called crackle medium, it blends with the paint and causes a crackle.. being acrylic based, it might blend into an acrylic based automotive paint but I'm not sure. Elmers glue also causes paint to crackle but it's thickness, won't spray and thinners would eat it.You don't know what you've got til it's gone
