South Cali shops take any apprentice?
hey guys i need a job and i want to do something i enjoy but most shops around here want years of exp and wont take a kid who just enrolled into collge to teach was wondering if anyone know any shops around south cali who will take a hard workin kid under its wing i will do part time mini wage dont matter i just wanna get my hands dirty and learn. tired of paying peeps for something i know i will love doin myself.

I think you would have better luck hanging out at some car show or something and making friends with someone in the business and having him help you or ask if you can hang out at his shop when they aren't busy or on the weekends if he owns one. I went to school for autobody and made just over minimum wage and was changed engines and trannys, doing bodywork, painting and buffing, and the kid down the street flipping burgers made more money. None were willing willing to train you on anything they just wanted cheap labor. You can learn a lot by just reading as much as you can on what you are trying to do, and then trying it.
