Sun Tachometer Wiring
I picked up a Sun Tachometer at a swap meet recently and I'm not sure how to hook it up. There are 4 wires coming from it--red, black, blue and green. I'm guessing the red is for the hot wire(ignition switch) and the black is ground but I'm not sure about the others. Can someone give me a clue?Last edited by fitzwilly; 06-21-2008 at 06:33 AM.

The four wires should be the hot(constant 12v), ground, switched/remote(intermittent 12v), and the -/+ ignition wire(distributor wire for RPM's). This is the way I wired in my sun tach on my 79 chrysler 318. The only problem I had at first was I had the positive ignition wire instead of the negative. It causes no damage as the guage just goes the opposite direction. If it happens, switch the wires then you'll be good to go.

blue wire is the light.
I wanted to complain about this NZ slang business, but I see it was resolved before it mattered. LOL..
