    Question 400 sbc crack

has anyone had any experience dealing with a crack from a steam hole over to a head bolt hole?? I'm building a drag motor out of a block and plan on tapping and plugging the holes with 1/4 set screws, and helicoiling the head bolt hole. will this work, or is the block junk?? It seems like this is a common thing with 400's. Thanks, Jeff

I know it is acceptable on a stock flathead but do you want to chance all of your expensive parts on a questionable block?
