Howdy gang,
We have a Ronco magneto on a industrial VW saw mill motor.
I hooked it up to the old Sun distributor test machine we have to check if it worked.
With the cap off and a clip on the high tension lead to a spark plug wire/plug.
We get a good spark on the plug but looking into the mag there is a spark on the high tension wire down by the base.
Looks like that high tension lead is cracked and offering a path of least resistance to the case.
I'd like to pull the mag apart and solder a new high tension lead in.
From what I can tell there are two special nuts holding the base together.
The drive has a roll pin holding it together.
The shaft under the rotor also has one of the special nut holding it.

Are there any parts that will spring out when it is a part?

I'm up for pulling it apart but would like some spiritual help from somebody that has had the pleasure of stripping a mag down.
