Crate engines
Any recogmendations for a mild performance crate engines? I'm still ocillating between a 429 or a 460. I've seen a few crate engine combinations, that aren't that much more than what a long block will cost. The pros are they are already broken in properly and tested before they are shipped here. Any places any of you have gone too? Just researching now!" "No matter where you go, there you are!" Steve.

Thanks Pat and Cnile. I'm looking for something pretty toned down in the edelbrock performer variety. I found a place to build the long block, but figured it would be worth a little more for a crate or turn key motor." "No matter where you go, there you are!" Steve.

I then added the the E303 cam, a set of Crane 1.7 roller rockers and a good set of springs, changed the bolting to ARP, an Edelbrock Performer intake and carb, an MSD small diameter billet distributor plus converted it to a mech. fuel pump and added a Stewart NA$CAR water pump. Total investment - about $2700.Dave W

Sounds very good Dave, I'll go online and see what a 429 and a 460 are going for!Steve." "No matter where you go, there you are!" Steve.
I wanted to complain about this NZ slang business, but I see it was resolved before it mattered. LOL..
