I'm haveing fits trying to get this brace to fit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is the brace that runs from the steering column up to the cowl however I can not get it to fit in there. It seems to be about an inch too long.
There is a mystery to this part and I don't know the answer. I did the tear down on the truck and took all parts to the blaster. I don't remember removing this brace and when the truck came back the brace was removed and about 1.5 inches cut off from it. I welded it back but it won't fit. I can't say I didn't remove it when I did the tear down but I know for sure I didn't cut the end off.
I would appreciate some advice on this subject, a measurement of your brace and or pictures of where on the cowl it mounts.

Doesn't that brace bolt to the bottom of the dash? I don't recall the Chebbies, but the Fords bolt somewhere above the column and it is bracketed to that.Dave W
