Broken motor mount not on hot rod but need help
I have a question about a broken motor mount on a 2000 Plymouth 4 cylinder neon it’s the upper one not broken completely loose. My question is can I drive the car about 120 miles round trip without doing damage to the engine then fix it the next day? I need to go tomorrow for an appointment; it’s not completely broken there is still some rubber holding on. It has some vibration at idle, and 50 to 60.
Thanks in advance
Richard

a friend of mine bought a '01 Neon with broken mounts.. to cut the costs, the shop that she used, epoxied the mounts, and they held.. I can't remember what the flat rate was for doing it the right way but it was like 2 hrs... her car's mounts were really broken, but even after the little bit of driving she did, they were still able to just epoxy them back togther..You don't know what you've got til it's gone

Thanks Matt, I checked on the Internet, and they are 50 to 60 dollars, I just don't have time to get it by tomorrow. I think I broke it when I hit a bad set of tracks the other night, it hit pretty hard, enough for me to say oh damn.
Thanks,
Richard

You should be OK as long as you don't stand on the gas or slow it down by downshifting...Just take it easy..

Matt, and Daffy427
I want to thank you for responding to my post about the broken motor mount.
I said it wasn’t a hot rod question but it was something to do with an engine, which we all have something in common about.
I had an appointment, and I didn’t realize the importance of it until the only car we could use had a broken motor mount but got us there safe.

I could have and would have responded, but since someone gave you the correct answer in less than an hour, I didn't echo his advice . . . and I'm actually having a nice day.
I hope the situation works out for you.Jack
