My brother used old furnace tin in his 84' volkswagon rabbit, he just cut it with a curcular saw with the blade turnd round backwards and bent it with plyars and bolted it and rivited it down to good parts of the floor. I would say have it fiberglassed, that is what someone did on my 83 benz, it is as hard as a rock and you wouldn't know it was there, you do on mine if you lift the floor mat up as the floormats are the carpeting except the ridge in the center in the back and along the sides. You don't know what you've got til it's gone
