sheet metal thickness
Is 18 gauge a good thickness for replacing floor pans?

14-16 is more typical for replacement pieces. 18 could work if you have frequent braces or could roll in some ribs or are spanning very short openings to very solid existing structure.Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon

Anything thicker than 18 is a bear to work with IMO. As mentioned, rolled beads help stiffen it.

I'm going to have to use some of this to make inner rockers and the floor braces weld to them. I think I'll take a little piece of the old rocker with me to see what's close.
I wanted to complain about this NZ slang business, but I see it was resolved before it mattered. LOL..
