    hidden antena??

Has anyone had any luck with one of these elec. hidden antena's? I am trying not to run a standard one behind the grill to hide it but really have not heard of the performance of a so called hidden one. Thanks

They are about half as good as external ones from what I've seen.

Wacky, check out the Tune Trapper antenna, I use one inside the fairing on my Harley Street Glide and it's worked awesome for the past 3 years. It was originally designed for street rods by a rod owner, Nick. I first saw them at the NSRA Nats South in Tampa several years ago, he had just introduced the motorcycle version. Read about them here.

I am using the tune trapper in my steel 39 chevy coupe.the only real requirement is that in a steel car mount it as high as possible in the car & it must have a clearence of 3/4" from any metal in all directions around the antenna "arms". I have one in my 39 chevy coupe mounted between the two trunk hinges( the flat area below the rear window that goes to the the trunk gutter, don't know the proper name for that piece of metal on the car)it works great!!!!!, it is the best hidden attenna i have ever used, and I have try alot in past hotrods i have owned!!!. I live 35 mile out of Indianapolis & I can get all the station. sells for about $40.00. this is the only one to use!!

So a frenched electric is out of the question? I too have been trying to decide what I'm going to do. I saw one at a car show a couple of years ago....they had run it under the car on the outside of the frame rails of all places. He said it worked great. ??

Ha. What kind of music do they play? I may try the same route with mine. I'm taking the header collector out between the frame and fender. Have just enough space between frame and running board to place a 5X8 can style Borla muffler and exit out the side of the boards. Since I have to widen the back of my boards to match the rear fender....I may take some rake out by also extending the boards down at the back....for a side exit....maybe. Isnt it just amazing the places folk can come up with for things when space is limited.

hottrodd57, the Tune Trapper is made by a guy in Florida. If you click on the link I provided, does your antenna look like those?
