If your build is targeted at a grocery-getter motor, that's fine. But you should know that if you want more, there's lots more potential there. I have no idea what the car will run, but the motor is choked down with intake manifold, cam, exhaust manifolds, stock converter and horrid gears (even after the change you mentioned). Here's how your combo looks on the DynoSim:
rpm tq hp
2000 382 145
2500 389 185
3000 405 231
3500 420 280
4000 409 312
4500 386 331
5000 353 336
5500 307 321
A change to Edelbrock RPM Q-Jet #7164 intake manifold, large tube headers and 224/230 cam (Comp 11-242-3) looks like this: (I tried 6 different cams and this one made the most tq and hp with your 9.5 SCR. The headers alone are worth 56 ft/lbs and 66 hp)....
rpm tq hp
2000 433 165
2500 440 209
3000 465 266
3500 492 328
4000 502 382
4500 497 426
5000 485 462
5500 443 464
6000 386 441
That's pickin' up 82 ft/lbs of torque and 128 hp. (500+ ft/lbs of torque is nothing to sneeze at). This cam will work best with a 2000/2500 stall converter (very streetable) and 3.73 gears.Last edited by techinspector1; 10-10-2008 at 02:55 PM.
