    Cheater slicks

I just ordered a set of Firestone cheater slicks 10.00" wide mounted on a 10." rim. I just want know if anyone has a set, and does the tire look flat when it is mounted on 10." rims. The display was mounted on 8" rims and it bowed up in the middle. The guy said that the 10.0" rim will make it look flat. I kow that the Radir tires look good on a 10.00" rim but havenot seen the firestone tire.

I'm running the exact same slicks but mounted on 8 inch rims. To he honest, I wish I had gone with 10 inch rims because the tires do balloon out in the center. I think they would have a flatter profile with wider rims. It isn't a problem driving wise, but the middle of the tire gets all the wear.

One thing that surprises me is that they are really pretty good in the rain. I have been in a few downpours and the car doesn't move around at all. I've had other cars with slicks and they were downright scary in the wet.

I also have had better biting slicks when you nailed it. (see picture 3)

I am glad to hear that about driving them in the rain . I was told that the slots on the edge of the tire helps in the rain.

Don, take some white sneaker polish and paint a stripe about 4" wide all the way across the tread of each tire. Alter tire pressure until you get the polish to wear off evenly all the way across the tire on a burnout. Record that pressure and use it when you want max traction.

Do you get hassled by the cops running the lakesters with baffles ? As soon as I get mine registered I am planning on doing that. If The inspector would pass it that way it would save me some $$ on an exhaust system.
