Vacuum lines 302 w/new intake, do I need them?
I have a 71 Torino with a 302 and C-6 tranny. Everything was stock when I got it, then I put an Edelbrock 289 Performer and Edelbrock 600 cfm carb w/ electric choke. It starts great but idles really high and the brake pedal is very firm.
There was a tee with 3 or 4 vacuum lines on the front of the old intake.
I have the distributor vacuum line going to the front passenger side of the carb.
I have the tee in the port on the rear of the new intake with the power brake booster on the big port, then there is a line that goes to the tranny and another smaller one that goes to the brake booster.
My question is, do I really need all of these vacuum lines? I know I at least have to have the line from the dist to the carb and the big one for the brake booster.
I will also look closer at the high-idle linkage and check voltage to the choke tomorrow, but any input on this or where I can find a vacuum line schematic would be appreciated.

I wanted to complain about this NZ slang business, but I see it was resolved before it mattered. LOL..
