1979 corvette - Flamethrower Exhaust?????
So Id like to put a duel flamethrower exhaust on my car but i really dont want to spend the sevrel Hundred Dollers the guys at the store want me to pay. I know i could do it myself with the right guide and Parts - but im wondering if someone could maybe explain or send me to a web-page that would explain how to do it yourself.
Any feedback would be appriciated!
Thanx

So, all I did was get these freebie instructions off the internet about putting a 'T' in the gas line and running a hose back to the tailpipe... Did it all for less than $25...
It was so cool!

Re: Re: Re: 1979 corvette - Flamethrower Exhaust?????
So, I printed the 'net instructions and put it all on...
Went over to my girlfriends house to show her dad that I was too all grown up. But before I got to her place, I stopped by the burger place..You know, the one in town next to the fire station. Yeah, that's the one....
Anyways.. The whole gang is there, so I cruise around the block and get close...real close..
Wait for the light to change....idle over to the curb...stick 'er in first gear... blip the throttle....hit the valve and switch...
That's when it happened

heres a pic of the 'cracker' boxes i make..... dual 'tuned' flasher relays( change resister inside to spark quicker..approx 20 times a second)..two relays used for safety, incase one screws other still works.... grey n red wires to dash... black n red to coil....green n brown to fuel pump n fuel shut off valve (if used)...led on switch to show operation n monitor sparking.

internals....... As i said before these are NOT normal relays...they have been modified. a regular flasher box will not operate at a frequency that is safe to use with flame kits...8TH ANNUAL RATFINK PARTY & KUSTOM KULTURE EXTRAVAGANZA - 21TH JULY LOS ANGELES COUNTY RACEWAY, PALMDALE CA.

Lol.... well i'm afraid i cant reveal my sources *Looks nervous*
Oh ok then... I have worked as an aeronautical technician in the past and understand the principle, my Bro is an engine developer/technician for an automotive Co. and our resident electrical whizz sorted the slow spark problems.... i will post more pix of the injection unit similar to that i have on my 55 Roadie..8TH ANNUAL RATFINK PARTY & KUSTOM KULTURE EXTRAVAGANZA - 21TH JULY LOS ANGELES COUNTY RACEWAY, PALMDALE CA.

Really, pretty neat work
Only thing I'd like to see is the switch be remotely mounted.
I see the need for a box to stuff the guts in, but I'd hide the box and trip the switch off the dash somewhere's unobtrusive.
