Wiring Schematic
Does anyone have a good wiring schematic for a SBC engine? I have a one wire alt., mini starter with two big lugs and one small, a three wire HEI.
I did get my horn to work though, sure is loud!!!

What really is it that you need? Did you buy a wiring harness? If so it should tell you what goes where. I can help but need to know what you are starting with...Automobiles have one of the best understandings..

I bought an EZ wire harness and I think I have most of it figured out except for the distributer. It's an MSD Streetfire HEI with a three wire plug coming out of it, red, yellow and black. Can't seem to figure this out.

Oops, I just noticed it has another place for a plug under the black cap.

The 3 wire plug is probably from the base of the distributor to the cap... The wiring to the distributor should be a 12V+ lead from the ignition "on" position, then another terminal for the tachometer connection.Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Thanks Dave, I finally found a picture and realized the plug goes to the cap, that's what had me confused. So I got IGN Switch and Tach to the HEI and ALT power and the ALT Bypass to the starter with the bypass going to the Alternator.
Thanks again,
